Mt. Ellinor (or, “why don’t I do this more often?”)

Well Saturday I went to the Olympic peninsula to do some hiking/climbing.  It was a great day, and although it was a little warm for long pants, I survived well enough.   I ran into a guy who works at the clinic near the middle of the climb- he’s a little younger, a lot more fit, and all he was carrying was a water bottle (and sometimes his dog).  He got a little off trail and so I caught up to him again later, but he still ran on to the top like he lived there.  All in all it was a really great day.  Oh, yeah, and having a big 4 wheel drive Suburban on the 7 miles of forest-service road was really nice, too.  Check the picture for the rest of the photos.  Zach’s the guy in the white T-shirt and Rudy is his dog.

It seems we missed you by a hair. We were in Seattle on Saturday coming back from a trip in the Cascades. Could you see us from your peak?

They have an inflatable donut at WalMart for about $6. You
may want to get one and take it with you next time!
So happy to be able to help. 😉
