Other things are a-changin’ too

Some have suggested in the past (not so recently) that I am traveling so that I can avoid the possibility of meeting someone  with whom I might begin a real and meaningful romantic acquaintance.  These nay-sayers think that it gives me great satisfaction to have romantic interests with ladies all over the place without any real possibility of significant relationships, as though distance makes them that much more likely to captivate my heart, preventing me from investing in any one person in a meaningful way.

Well, as I alluded to this in a previous post about obedience to God, the slate was essentially laid bare and clean for me while in Kenya, and on no other day than my own birthday (November 16th for those who missed it), I happened to have dinner with a few people from the trip and a couple of others who were invited.  One was invited by my friend after I virtually begged her to do me that favor, knowing that I was leaving town shortly.

Well, lo and behold, this young lady and I are counting the days until we will see each other again, and I must say publically that she is indeed a blessing from the Lord.  Without her permission I won’t go and write much about her on this blog, but I wanted you to know that she and I are quite enamoured with one another, and I couldn’t be happier about the strange turn of events that has brought us together.  She is one special lady, and I am one lucky (read-blessed) man.  God is good- all the time.

You forgot to mention the intensive training program you went through in Kenya for dating. It was all part of God’s plan.
Your sensei will be most appreciative of the results since your training sessions ended.

Sounds like my prayers have been answered. You remember what I’ve told you about my praying for you kids (all of you).
Dove told me on Sunday and I am so very happy for you. Hope to hear your story soon.

Hey, sounds good. And Miss, if you’re listening: I recommend you withhold permission for just a while longer….

And I have her permission to write whatever I choose; I just choose not to write that much out of respect for her privacy.
